The evaporation air humidifer is constructed from an upper housing part (1), a lower housing part (2) and an intermediate housing part (3). Situated on the intermediate housing part (3) is a drive unit (7) and an evaporator mat (12) with water supplies (18, 19, 20). The air is drawn through the mat (12) by the axial blower (8) and blown out of the device through the openings (10). The fan blades (13, 14) are surrounded by an air guide pipe (11) which prevents the flowing back of humidified air. As a result, the power requirement of the device is considerably reduced, in other words the efficiency is increased. <IMAGE>
