A fuel cell block comprises a stack or pile of hollow elements (E) disposed between two end elements (T), each hollow element comprising a frame (1), regularly spaced partitions (2) parallel to a side of the frame, and two series of conducting plates (3) perpendicular to the partitions (2) and defining therewith a series of superposed compartments respectively fed with oxidant, fuel and electrolyte through channels (6), (4), (5) respectively, the conducting plates (3) acting as electrodes and some of them having current collecting lugs (3a) extending outside of the fuel cell block. <IMAGE> |
