PURPOSE:To easily obtain a magnetic head with high track density by arranging a ferromagnetic material, equipped with an electromechanical transducing element at one terminal and with a shock canceling or absorbing element at the other, opposite to an auxiliary electrode with a signal winding across a gap for magnetic recording medium insertion. CONSTITUTION:On a nonmagnetic substrate 20, a strip-like magnetic thin film 6 of a ferromagnetic material is formed and at both its ends 61 and 62, a piezoelectric element 7 with an electrode 8 and a shock canceling or absorbing element 8 are arranged respectively. The electrode 8 is connected to a terminal 15 through a pulse amplifier 12 and a signal processor 14. A high-magnetic-permeability area 17 is movable to the end 62 in the strip-like magnetic thin film 6 at a speed (v) by an impulse wave generated by the piezoelectric element 7. When moving to the other end 62 at the speed (v), the recordable area 17 moves at the speed (v) within width (l), realizing the same effect with a conventional multielement array condition by a one-element magnetic head. |
