Process for solution crystallisation on an industrial scale

The present invention is based on the finding that the volume-related stirring power is a generally usable criterion for transferring crystallisations from solutions from the laboratory scale to the industrial scale and therefore relates to a process for crystallisation from solutions on an industrial scale using a crystallisation vessel furnished with a stirrer, suitable physical and technical boundary conditions being determined on a laboratory scale, which process is characterised in that the suitable volume-related stirring power is determined on a laboratory scale and this is applied to the industrial scale virtually unchanged together with other physical and technical boundary conditions determined on the laboratory scale. In this manner, solution crystallisations can be transferred directly from the laboratory to the industrial scale, the particle size of the crystals changing by at most +/- 20 %, frequently by significantly less.
