PURPOSE:To obtain a good binding state when a separately prepared cap member is adapted and fixed by the method of resistance welding to the end face of a pipe member constituting a shock absorber main unit, by press fitting a protrusive part formed in an end face of the cap member to an intenal contour of the pipe member and then performing the above described welding work. CONSTITUTION:A separately prepared cap member 2 at the car body mounting side is adapted to the end part of a pipe member 1 constituting a shock absorber main unit of damper cover or the like, and the both members are mutually bound by the method of resistance welding in which electrical conduction is performed under pressure across electrodes A, B in both outsides of said members. In this case when the cap member 2 is mounted, a protrusive part 3 is previously formed in the end face of said member 2 and press fitted to an internal contour of the pipe member 1, and then the above described resistance welding is performed. In this way, good contact surfaces of said both members 1, 2 are formed, and a welded part 4 is formed in said contact surface to obtain a good binding state. |
