In this lawnmower, the expulsion opening of the lateral expulsion duct (2) for cut grass of the lawnmower casing (1) is provided with an impact protection flap (3) which is normally held in the closed position on the top side of the expulsion duct (2), against a U-shaped bar (5), by means of a spiral spring (4) wound around a hinge (10), the legs of the bar being attached in the region of the two outer sides of the opening of the expulsion duct (2) and its crosspiece being arranged under the free front edge of the impact protection flap (3) in the operating position of the latter. In the raised position of the impact protection flap (3), a nozzle (8) of a grass collector (7) can be inserted into the expulsion duct (2), the nozzle resting on the bar (5). In its operating position, the grass collector (7) engages behind the stop bar (5) by means of abutments (11). In their operating position, the impact protection flap (3) and the bar (5) provide protection from external forces acting on them. The stop bar simultaneously guarantees, by means of the latching device on the underside of the grass collector, that the said collector is retained securely in its operating position. <IMAGE>
