The subject of the invention is a device for preventing cattle from sucking at udders when this is not wanted. The device comprises a nose ring and projections attached thereto, these projections being designed in the form of springs and a plate being arranged behind them in the centre. By designing the projections as springs and attaching a plate, sucking is prevented with relatively great certainty and, in addition, the useful life of the device is increased. <IMAGE>
