A lip sealing ring is proposed, which interacts with a raceway and can be used in particular in the case of systems in which extreme operating conditions are present, such as a reduced pressure during operation and an excess pressure which occurs periodically when stationary. The seal has a membrane-like elastic extension which extends in the direction of the other race partner, originating from the raceway and/or from the housing of the lip sealing ring. When a pressure load is applied, said seal rests against the other race partner and hence protects the actual sealing lip against damage.
