PURPOSE:To carry out the destaticization of a latent image carrier without providing any special destaticizing means, by lowering the positive and negative corona discharge currents almost at a time and substantially in the same speed. CONSTITUTION:The positive and negative polarity corona dischargers 3 and 4 carry out the destaticization of a recording drum 1 when the working of the drum 1 is over. For this purpose, the voltage of application is varied by a voltage control circuit 7 for the output voltage of power supplies 5 and 6 which apply the voltage to the dischargers 3 and 4. Thus the positive and negative polarity corona discharge currents are lowered toward the drum 1 almost at a time in substantially in the same speed. In such way, the drum 1 receives several times the functions of the dischargers 3 and 4 while the corona discharge current is reduced. As a result, the surface potential of the drum 1 is converged to an even value. Thus the destaticization is possible for a latent image carrier without using any special destaticizing means. |
