<p>An element (1) for retaining at least one elongate member, such as a pipe forming part of a fluid line in a motor vehicle, includes a retaining portion (3) for gripping the circumference of the elongate member and engagement means (4) to enable the retaining element to be connected to a further retaining element (10) by an engagement action in which, hook-like engaging elements (11, 12) of said further retaining elements resiliently snap- engage in recesses (5) of the first- mentioned element. One of the elements includes a mounting portion (2) for attachment to a support. In the form shown the pipes gripped by element (1) are at right- angles to those gripped by element (10).
