PURPOSE:To enable to control the heat transfer by a method wherein magnetic powder is mixed in working fluid filled in a wick and congregated by magnetic force applied with a magnetic field generating mechanism in order to control the flow rate of the working fluid by means of the resistance generated by the congregation of the magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The wire gauze like copper wick 2 is arranged over the hollow inner wall of the heat pipe 1 and filled with the working fluid 3 such as ammonia water or the like, within which the magnetic powder such as iron powder or the like is mixed. The magnetic force with variable magnitude is generated by applying the field flux controlled with the current flowed in a field coil 5 equipped at the outside part of the pipe 1. The enhancement of field flux density increases the density of the magnetic powder 4 in the fluid 3 near the coil 5 and consequently the resistance of the fluid 3, resulting in decreasing the flow rate for the movement of the fluid 3 and enabling to realize the heat transfer for obtaining the desired temperature. |
