PURPOSE:To enable printing on various materials by selecting a monolithic head tank containing ink corresponding to a material to a be printed and to printing color. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet printer, the rotating motion of a cam gear 36 is converted into the reciprocating motion of the monolithic head tank 31 through an arm 37. Since the head part of the tank 31 is provided with a nozzle monolithically, recording is conducted by the reciprocating motion of a one-nozzle head and with one-dot-line feeding. The line feeding is conducted by the main body of the printer moved by a moving wheel 33 and an auxiliary moving wheel 34 and printing on a nonformat paper sheet, a metal plate, a plastic plate and the like is enabled. The monolithic head tank can be prepared by plastic molding, and since the nozzle employed is only one, it requires a single piezoelectric element and is prepared at low cost. |
