PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration of a picture quality in case of sending out a picture signal whose picture element density is rough, by dividing a basic picture signal into each block in the main scanning direction and the subscanning direction, and converting each block to one bit of a low density picture signal. CONSTITUTION:A binary picture signal is stored in addresses A1-A8 of an ROM5 through D.FFs1-4, is divided into each block of M bits in the main scanning direction and N bits in the subscanning direction, contents corresponding to the address inputs A1-A8 in the picture signal conversion table written in advance in the ROM5 are read out from said ROM5, and are outputted as a low density picture signal (b) to a picture signal output terminal 6. Subsequently, said each block is converted to one bit of the low density picture signal. In this way, a picture information is read in detail, a basic picture signal obtained from said information is divided into blocks, they are coverted in accordance with a distribution pattern of a signal level, therefore,deterioration of a picture quality is more reduced than usual. |
