PURPOSE:To prevent the crogging of a nozzle, by a method wherein an inner wall of a nozzle and the periphery of the nozzle at a front surface of a nozzle plate are covered with a non-wet material, and ink is kept in a condition to draw in ink from a nozzle at a time when injection is brought to a stop. CONSTITUTION:In a nozzle plate 3, an inner wall of a nozzle 1 and the front surface of the nozzle plate 3 are covered with a non-wet material 4. The non- wet material 4 has a high contact angle with liquid, a material being inactive to chemicals, for example, fluoric resin can be used with the material 4 which is formed into a film in a thickness of about 0.05-0.1mum by, for example, a spattering. When an ink jet operation is brought to a stop, a pressure in a head is momentarily set to a negative pressure from an atmospheric pressure by releasing the inner pressure in the ink jet head to an atmospheric pressure, and this permits ink to be brought to a slight drawing-in condition. |
