PURPOSE:To prolong a life without damaging sensitivity by a method wherein a tellurium (Te) thin film is used as a recording medium film on a transparent substrate of a memory plate for optical recording. CONSTITUTION:On a non-crystalline film on which 10-50Angstrom silicon has been attached through evaporation on a transparent substrate such as a glass substrate or an acryl substrate, a tellurium thin film of about 400Angstrom is formed through the sputtering method to make a recording medium film. Since the velocity of oxidization of the tellurium thin film differs with the surface direction, the film arranged in the direction of 100 defined on the memory plate according to the present invention decreases the velocity of its oxidization to 1/2 as compared with the film that has been heretofore arrange in the direction of 101 as the recording film, so that the film of such a memory plate for optical recording can be doubled. A guide groove for tracking servomechanism necessary for recording and regenerating can be provided in the substrate of the memory plate or the recording medium film. |
