PURPOSE:To reduce a consumption power, by a method wherein a format, appearing at each stage of a letter printed by a dot matrix, is formed into a pattern, and a dot format, appearing at the same stage, is formed on each row of type belt. CONSTITUTION:In a printer wherein a hammer hammers a type wheel for dot type, in addition to A-E type belts consisting of only one dot per a stage of a conventional dot matrix, dot arrangements for 3 types of F-H are added, and a format for a dot arrangement having a high frequency in use is formed so that it can be printed in one time. In case, for example, letters of 0-9 are printed in a line, in the case of the conventional type belt having only the format for A- E, a solenoid must be driven 146 times, meanwhile, if formats for F-H are added, the solenoid can be driven only 82 times, and this permits a power for driving the solenoid to be saved 45%. |
