PURPOSE:To achieve high density recording and to increase the efficiency of erasion, by using high saturation magnetic flux density ferrite for a recording and reproducing core and high magnetic permeability ferrite material for an erasing core. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head device is constituted with a recording and reproducing magnetic head 1, erasing head 2 and auxiliary plates 3, 4, 5 consisting of nonmagnetic substance. The ferrite used for the head 1 is of higher saturation magnetic flux density than that for the erasing head, and the ferrite for the erasing head is constituted with a material of high magnetic permeability at low frequency region in comparison with the ferrite for the head 1. Excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics can be obtained for the head 1 with high coercive force at high saturation magneic flux density, and high magnetic permeability ferrite material is used for the erasing head 2, to decrease erasing current in comparison with the use of the same ferrite as the head 1, heating of the magnetic head coil can be reduced and the erasing characteristics of high efficiency can be obtained. |
