PURPOSE:To obtain a flat wire having excellent insulating property of the edge by remaining by an etching treatment with metallic layers with the prescribed width and at the prescribed interval on an insulating layer before or after a metallic layer of good electric conductivity and an insulating layer are laminated, and then cutting it. CONSTITUTION:A metallic layer 1 made, for example, of an aluminum foil and an insulating layer 2 made of synthetic resin film of polyester, high pressure polyethylene or the like are laminated. Then, etching resist agent layers 3 are formed in the desired width and interval on the surface of the layer 1. After the layers 3 are sufficiently dried, they are etched to remain only with the metallic layer having the layers 3 on the layer 2. After the steps of neutralizing, washing and drying, the layer 2 is cut at the parts designated by broken lines A, thereby obtaining long flat wires. Since this flat wire has side edges of the layer 2 projected from both side edges of the layer 1, the side edges of the layer are not, even if wound in a coil shape, exposed, thereby preventing the shortcircuit to be contacted with the side edges of the adjacent metallic layer. |
