PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality at the time of designation of area by recognizing it as a consecutive area when the distance of two adjacent sides of designated plural area is smaller than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A drum 106 is moved (rotated) toward the arrow (a) and an LED array 101 is goes turned off when the part of area A of 109 and area B of 107 is scanned to form a latent image of the areas A, B. The control accuracy of the LED array 101 in the embodiment is 2.5mm in the array direction (drum axis direction) and 3mm in the drum advancing direction. When the distance 110 between the adjacent area A of 109 and area B of 107 is 2.5mm+1mm or below in the array direction and the distance 108 between adjacent areas A, B is 3mm+1mm is the drum advancing direction, then the LED array 101 is controlled as the consecutive area of 111. Thus, even if two areas are close to each other, the picture quality at area designation is improved. |
