PURPOSE:To mix materials which have a great difference in density uniformly and efficiently by a screw type continuous mixer, by varying the gap between the barrel surface and the peak surface of the screw flight of the mixer. CONSTITUTION:A screw shaft 1 is provided with a flight 2 spirally, and the gap between a barrel 3 and the peak surface of the screw flight 2 is varied periodically at expansion parts 4 and contraction parts 5. The cylinder expansion parts may be provided at the upper and lower parts of the internal wall of the barrel 3 alternately. As a result, materials having a great difference indensity are put in rotary motion by a screw and also moved up and down (or up and down, and left and right upon occasion), thus mixing them uniformly and efficiently. |
