PURPOSE:To provide possibility to process many kinds of cam shafts without replacement of master cam by furnishing a group of master cams each of which shall serve for machinig two or more equally formed cams on a shaft in different phase angles. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 19 is born by a bearing table 18 fixed on a table 11 so that its axis coincides with the swing center of a swing table 14. An encoder 23 is installed on this swing table 14 to constitute the spindle indexing device together with a DC motor 21. On the spindle 17 are fitted a group of master cams 43 required to grind many kinds of cam shafts W. This group 43 is constituted with on to three master cams in a suit and these suits comprising max. three cams 43A, 43B,... shall be able to grind all types of cams on a shaft to be machined. |
