PURPOSE:To avoid a transmission error of information and to attain a close and quick transmission of information, by supplying the output of >=1 photoelectric converters to an electrooptic converter and at the same time transmitting the own station signal to a transmission line to flow it back to the own station. CONSTITUTION:The light beams having different waveforms are used, and, for instance, the beams of wavelengths lambda1-lambda4 are used at a transmitter 1 for the passing purpose 13-18 for the vertical connection between a photoelectric converter and an electrooptic converter, for the transmission purpose 101 and monitor purpose 102, respectively. Then the signal transmitted from the own station is applied to an input terminal 1001, and an optical signal of wavelength lambda1 is transmitted to an optical fiber transmission line 152. On the other hand, the optical signal made incident from an optical fiber transmission line 451 is separated into wavelengths lambda1-lambda4. Thus the output of the beam of lambda1 applied to the photoelectric converter 102 is used for monitor purpose, and the outputs of the beams of lambda2-lambda4 applied to photoelectric converters 14, 16 and 17 are used for the passing connection and for the extraction of the branch signal. The transmitters 2-4 have almost the same constitution as the transmitter 1. Thus a number of piecs of information can be transmitted at a time between optional transmitters. |
