A door is constructed around a square-section tube. Flexible metal strips provide good electrical grounding of the door edge to the jamb when the door is closed. A cylindrical lever-axis has end bearings in a circular ring which screws into the end of the axis housing. The bearing bush assemblies are screw-fixed to the door panels through external collars. The bearing ring has a circular crown of springs metal tongues which press against the axle and form a reliable electrical contact. The radius of the crown is slightly less than the axle and the tongues maintain pressure-contact with the cylinder when the axle is turned by the lever. The mechanism prevents a bridge for electromagnetic radiation across a Faraday-cage wall.
