<p>The illuminated road sign comprises a panel on which the warning, and the triangular outline are highlighted in small lenses. Each lens is situated at the end of an optical fibre supplying it with light. The optical fibres are gathered into a bundle and are taken down to the source of light. The lenses defining the outside frame of the sign may be of a different size to those of the warning symbol itself, so that the parts of the sign may show up with different intensities. Some of the optical fibres may be coloured in order to produce different colours on the sign itself. The lenses may be glued into the panel, and the ends of the optical fibres may also be glued into place.</p> |
