A ventilated storage cupboard as a service unit for laboratory equipment of that type where at least one wall is fixed to a wall of a fume cupboard and which, at the front is equipped with at least one door which leads to the cupboard's interior. In order to restrict the transport of chemicals and equipment between the fume cupboard and a storage area and also for the creation of well-ventilated conditions, as well as the keeping of chemicals and equipment in this kind of cupboard, it is recommended that the storage cupboard's interior be accessible from the cupboard's interior via a number of ingress and egress points in at least one of the cupboard's walls (19), via a sliding or movable drawer for example; one or more hatches (31) which give access to a capture unit (33) for spill chemicals; outlet taps (34, 35) adjacent to the storage vessels (36) and the like. The doors (12) are designed as for a shelf cupboard with, from its front side, accessible lockers (14) and shelves (15).
