PURPOSE:To increase corrosion resistance and flexibility for a joint, by insulating pressure resistant tube body storing the joint of an optical fiber core with corrosion resistance and providing a flexible protector. CONSTITUTION:A joint 2 of a fiber core 1 is stored at the inside of a pressure resistant hard tube body 16, and a high tensile wire 6 of the submarine optical cable is fixed at both ends of the body 16. The external circumference is insulated with a plastic molding body 21 for corrosion resistance and the outside and vicinity are protected with an incorporated boot 22 made of hard rubber. The submarine optical cable near the joint 2 is provided with a flexible protector 26. Thus, by forming the joint of submarine optical cable, the corrosion resistance and flexibility of the joint can be increased. Further, a metallic coil can also be used for the flexible protector 26. |
