METHOD FOR STOPPING DUMMY BAR CONVEYOR IN HOME POSITION

PURPOSE:To make the damages and deformations of dummy bars nil by feeding the dummy bar backward with pushers for backward feeding of the dummy bar of a conveyor which fit and engage into the links of the transfer chain of the conveyor from the top to side face thereof and can be engaged in either of forward and backward directions in arbitrary positions of the transfer chain. CONSTITUTION:A dummy bar 1 for initial casting for the stage of casting molten steel continuously is transferred backward against the forward path for continuous castings of a conveyor 2 moving back and forth horizontally from a prescribed yard. At this time, pushers 5 for backward feeding of the dummy bar of the conveyor 2 fit and engage removaly into the links 13 of the transfer chain 12 of the conveyor 2 from the top to side faces and the dummy bar 1 is fed backward by the pushers 5 that can be engaged in either of forward and backward directions in the arbitrary position of the transfer chain 12. Hence, the dummy bar is stopped simply by fitting the pushers 5 into the links 13 corresponding to the stop point of a home position which varies frequently.
