PURPOSE:To obtain a titled forming device which forms >=3 pads of the same size on the side surface of a pipe to be worked precisely in one process, by providing a pressing device which applies the same pressure simultaneously to the pipe to be worked at more than one positions in outward and inward radial directions. CONSTITUTION:Said forming device is incorporated in a compression press; an upper female mold 22 is fixed on its ram 4, and a lower male mold 23 is fixed to a table. After the ram 4 of a hydraulic press is elevated to insert a hexagonal pipe 2 into a female mold 11 for positioning 13, the female mold 22 is lowered and the pipe 2 is covered with the female mold 11. Then, a male mold 1 is inserted into and positioned in the pipe 2 and the female mold 11 is tightened up with oil generated by a fixing means 31 while pressure oil generated by a pressing device 30 is fed to each ram 4 through an oil charge pipe 9. As a result, each ram 4 is permitted to move forth radially against the force of a leaf spring 6, and the hexagonal pipe 2 is deformed plastically by the thrust of the ram 4 to be pressed against laths 12, thus forming a pad 2a. |
