PURPOSE:To obtain a weld zone of high quality with the stable arc and smooth globular transfer and to facilitate electric current regulation in pulse arc welding by specifying current change width, the time between the rise and fall of current and the time between the base current and peak current and the opposite thereof. CONSTITUTION:In consumable electrode pulse arc welding in an inert gas, the current change width between peak current IP and base current IB is set at >=300A, the time T from the start of the rise of the current IP until the start of its fall at 0.2ms<=T<=4ms, and the arrival times TU, TD from the current IB up to theIP and from the IP up to the IB at 0.1ms<=TU, TD<= 4ms. As the IP is larger, the crystal grain sizes of the weld zone are finer, and if the relation between the IP and TP is assured, one piece of glubule can be transferred surely in one pulse. For this, the triangular arc or sine wave of low arc sound pressure is preferable, and from the range of the T, the TU, TD are limited to the above-described, and the effective waveform pattern is as shown in the figure. |
