PURPOSE:To prevent failures due to leakage of microwaves, by providing a detecting means which detects the conductivity of a thin paper material at an area before a microwave generator of a carrying path. CONSTITUTION:In printing picture through the use of microwave waves, electrodes 2 is brought into contact with a thin paper material 1 passing on a carrying path, AC is applied from an AC power supply 5 and the conductivity of the material 1 is detected. When both the electrodes 2 are in contact with a conductive thin paper material 1, a current flows, and when a nonconductive body or nothing is present, since the impedance between the electrodes 2 is high, no current can flow and no detection is made. When a thin paper material with high conductivity is detected for the passing on the carrying path, the carriage is hindered or the production of microwave is inhibited, allowing to prevent failures due to the leakage of microwaves. |
