PURPOSE:To obtain a dichromatic image with high sensitivity and contrast by a dry process by using 2 layers each producing a base by heating after exposure, a layer of a red dye which is decolored in the presence of the base and a black color developing layer which is deprived of the color developing capacity in the presence of the base. CONSTITUTION:A polyester film 1 is coated with a layer 21 of red pyrylium dye which is decolored in the presence of a base and the 1st base producing layer 22 contg. a cobalt (III) ammine or amine complex (b), polynuclear quinone (c), a hydrogen donor (d) such as polyethylene glycol and a dioxime or diantipyrrylmethane chelating agent (e). After laminating a barrier layer 3 on the layer 22, the layer 3 is coated with the 2nd base producing layer 41 contg. (b)-(e) and a dye causing spectral sensitization at 500-700nm and a black color developing layer 42 contg. leucoaminotriarylmethane (g) which develops color by oxidation, an acid (h) promoting the color development and hexaarylbiimidazole. The resulting recording material is imagewise exposed, heated, and uniformly exposed. |
