PURPOSE:To smoothly start a heat drive cycle including an expander having a rotor in a cylinder, by closing a first back pressure pipe open/close valve at the starting of the expander and thereafter opening a second back pressure pipe open/close valve. CONSTITUTION:An expander 1 has an eccentrically-rotating rotor 10 in a cylinder 9. Partition valves 12 are fitted in rotor grooves 11 so that the valves can be moved in and out. The cylinder 9 is provided with an inlet port 13 and an outlet port 14 for a gas coolant. The inlet side of the expander 1 and the grooves 11 are connected to each other through a first and second back pressure pipes 15, 16 fitted with open/close valves 17, 18. Since the first valve 17 is closed at the time of starting, back pressure action to the partition valves 12 is stopped to reduce the friction on the tip to smooth the starting. After the starting, the second valve 18 is opened so that gas pressure lowered by a pressure reducer 19 acts as back pressure to the partition valves 12 to reduce the friction in operation as well. The efficiency of the operation is thus improved. |
