PURPOSE:To make the separation and recovery of the high calory gases in a central part from the low calory gases in a peripheral part possible by providing a cylindrical gas separator in the top part of a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:A gas separator 1 formed of a cylindrical body concentrical to a furnace body is mounted to 4 pieces of gas discharge ports 3a-3d provided in the shoulder part of the top part of a blast furnace. This separator 1 is formed of a cylindrical body of about 0.7D diameter when the diameter of the blast furnace body is defined as D. The high calory gases produced from the parts near the center of the blast furnace are gathered by this separator 1 and are recovered to the outside of the furnace through the ports 3a, 3c. The low calory gases produced from the peripheral parts in the blast furnace are recovered through the ports 3b, 3d in the outside part of the separator. Since the high calory gases have about 1,000kcal/m<3> quantity of heat, the independent use is possible without containing the danger of blow-out or the like. |
