1,266,069. Fluidized catalytic cracking. GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. 19 June, 1970 [25 June, 1969], No. 29781/70. Heading C5E. A gas oil feed is cracked to gasoline in the presence of a fluidized zeolite cracking catalyst in a reaction zone at 482-593‹ C. and a residence time of less than 5 seconds during which catalyst and hydrocarbon both flow concurrently through the zone so as to avoid formation of a catalyst bed in the reaction flow stream, there being introduced in the zone a diluent vapour which reduces the partial pressure of the feed, debutanized gasoline being recovered from the zone in increased yield. Suitable diluents are steam, N 2 , methane and ethylene.
|
