The buoyant mooring assembly for a tanker or the like comprises a rigid arm which has one end pivoted to the tanker about a horizontal axis whilst its other end is connected to anchor chains via an element rotatable about a vertical axis. The arm is part of a buoyancy member, which is arranged to a distance from the anchored element. This member may be arranged between the horizontal pivot and the element, or the element may be arranged between this pivot and the member. The arm may be connected with the element via a universal coupling.
