PURPOSE:To enable interlacing scanning and to decrease the number of image pickup elements by interpolating picture elements by shifting the image pickup elements vertically by a half pitch of the image element, and reading out the signal of each element by changing combinations of signals in every field. CONSTITUTION:The 1st image pickup element B and image pickup elements A and A' of a solid image pickup device are arranged by shifting in the vertically direction by a half pitch of picture element, and the elements B, A, and A' are driven by prescribed pulses from a synchronizing signal generator 1. The pulses from this generator 1 are applied to a driving circuit consisting of AND gates 2, 4, and 6, a counter circuit 2, inverting circuits 5, 8, and 9, and an adder 7. On the basis of the pulses from the generator 1, while a vertical starting pulse S7 is supplied to the element B out of phase by a 1/2H period, the vertical starting pulse groups S7, S8, and S8' of the elements B, A, and A' are made in phase with odd-numbered field groups and out of phase with even-numbered field groups by one horizontal period. |
