PURPOSE:To improve productivity for manufacturing an electrode plate group by providing the process forming a folding habit at a given interval in a continuous separator and the process placing a cathode plate and an anode plate alternately with the separator interposed in accordance with the folding habit of the separator. CONSTITUTION:A pair of plastic rollers 1 with formed projections 2 on its circumference at an equal interval are installed in a folding habit forming process A. The rollers 1 are rotated with the phase shift of a half pitch and a continuous separator is forced to pass between the rollers to form a separator b having a folding habit. The separator b is sent to a jig 3 of an electrode plate interposing process B, and anode plate c and a cathode plate d are fed alternately to the folding habit of the separator b, then stacked by moving the electrode plate group is stacking direction. Therefore, the electrode plate group interposing a double layer separator can be obtained automatically, thus, the productivity of a storage battery is substantially increased. |
