PURPOSE:To provide a melt sprayed film of fine grains, high adherency and high quality by placing the magnetic poles having polarities to act electromagnetic forces in such a way that magnetic fields are perpendicular to the outflow direction of compressed air and an arc direction and the arc directs the outflow direction of the compressed gas opposite to each other with an arc generating point in-between. CONSTITUTION:Consumable electrodes 2, 2' consisting of two pieces of conductive wire-like melt spraying materials fed by wire feed motors 3 are conducted with electricity via power feed tips 4, 4' from a welding electric power source 1. Magnetic poles 7, 7' of an opposed magnet are disposed on both sides between the leading ends of the electrodes 2, 2', with an arc 6 in-between, and act electromagnetic forces in such a way that the magnetic fields by the poles 7, 7' are in the direction roughly perpendicular to the outflow direction of compressed gas 8 and the arc 6, and that the arc 6 directs the outflow direction of the gas 8. Here, if the arc 6 is fired, the arc 6 is deflected to a material to be melt sprayed by the magnetic fields, and when the gas 8 is blown toward the arc 6 through an air nozzle 6, the molten metal formed at the tips of the electrodes 2, 2' is finely grained. |
