PURPOSE:To improve the cooling efficlency of a cooler for the lubricating oil of the engine of an automobile or the like and make the cooler compact, by connecting the cooler to the oil pump inlet side of a lubricating oil circuit. CONSTITUTION:When an oil pump 4 is started, lubricating oil 2 in an oil sump 1 is sucked up by the pump through between the tube 86 and outer fin 87 of an oil cooler 80. Engine cooling water circulates as it is performing heat exchange with the lubricating oil while flowing through tanks 82, 85, 83 and an outlet pipe 81b. The low-temperature oil cooled by the cooler 80 and discharged from the oil pump 4 flows through a regulator 5, a filter 6 and lubricated parts 10 and returns to the oil sump 1. Since only the pressure of the cooling water is loaded on the tanks 82, 83, 85 and water tube 86 of the cooler 80, the thickness of each member can be reduced to highten the efficiency of the cooling. |
