PURPOSE:To ensure the uniform thermal deformation of a cylinder block by providing a cooling water passage round cylinder holes and pushing in an elastic bar body between the entrance and the exit of the cooling water passage to construct a partition wall for conducting cooling water in one way. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water passage 3 is provided round cylinder holes 1 bored on a cylinder block 2. The cylinder block 2 is also provided with a cooling water entrance 4 and exit 5 connected to a cooling water pump 6, and an elastic bar body 7 is pushed in between the entrance 4 and the exit 5 for constructing a partition wall. Consequently, oneway flow can be ensured for the cooling water without stagnation. The cooling water passage is provided round the whole circumference of cylinder holes uniformly, and the bar body 7 is contracted to follow thermal deformation. This construction permits to ensure uniform thermal deformation. |
