PURPOSE:To greatly improve the reliability of a processor, by making the base level a process stage exclusively used for the microdiagnosis and executing microdiagnosis and reporting an unjust arithmetic as an error when the corresponding operation is carried out at a higher level. CONSTITUTION:A unit 16 exclusive for special process which is added to a main microprocessor 1 contains a control storage and a microprogram sequencer within its own unit, and forms a secondary microprocessor 2 independent of the processor 1. The processor 2 forms a group in the form of a firmware for microdiagnosis. The processor 1 decides an instruction to be processed by each processor at an early stage of analysis of a machine instruction and indicates the start of a process to the processor when necessary to start the analysis and process of the next machine instruction. |
