JOINT FOR BREAKWATER OR REVETMENT

PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of sealing effect of joints for breakwater or revetment of a dam capable of resisting to earthqueke by a method which an inserting material formed from sealing blocks is interposed between adjacent caissons to form an effective joint. CONSTITUTION:Notched parts 13 are beforehand formed in caissons 1 and 2. A sealing block 11 to be housed in the notched part 13 of an angular form preferably is of a planar square dimension such that it can slidably fit the notched part 13. The space between the sealing block 11 and the notched part 13 and the aperture between the caissons 1 and 2 are filled with crushed stones. The sealing block 11 in which the two faces of the block 11 closely contact with the faces of the notched parts 13 to prevent the leak of the crushed stones between the caissons 1 and 2 is formed by stacking up large numbers of blocks 15.
