PURPOSE:To prepare a magnetic roll paper which is prevented from color extinction and has an improved head matching, by a method wherein a given heat- sensitizer is incorporated in a heat-sensitive color development layer of a heat- sensitive recording type magnetic roll paper, and a water-soluble high-molecular protective layer containing a diester compound is provided on the surface of color development layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording layer is formed on one surface of a sheet- formed support such as ordinary or artificial paper. An N-alkylbenzamide shown by formulaI, where R1 is an alkyl group of C1-30, and a binder are added to a coating liquid for forming a heat-sensitive color development layer, whose main component is a leuco dye and an acid material which makes said dye form the color. The resulting liquid is applied on the other surface of the support to form a heat-sensitive color development layer. A solution of a water-soluble polymer containing a diester compound shown by formula II, where R2, R3 are an alkyl group of C10-30, is then applied on the surface of the heat-sensitive color development layer to form a protective layer. 0.5-1.0pts.wt., based on the total amount of the leuco dye and the acid material, of N-alkylbenzamide and 0.2-1.0wt%, in the protective layer, of the diester are used. |
