PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of color extinction due to a plasticizer, to enhance heat sensitivity of a color development layer, and to improve head matching, by a method wherein a specified heat sensitizer is incorporated in a heat-sensitive color development layer of a heat-sensitive recording label, and the surface of the color development layer is covered with a water-soluble high-molecular protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive color development layer containing a leuco dye, an acid material which makes said leuco dye form the color, a higher alkyleneglycol shown by formulaI, where R<1> is a 10-30C alkyl group, preferably a 12- 22C straight-chain alkyl group, and an N-alkylbenzamide shown by formula II, where R<2> is a 1-30C alkyl group, preferably a 10-30C straight-chain alkyl group, is provided on a support. An adhesive layer and a release backing paper are laminated on the back of the support and a water-soluble high-molecular protective layer, 2-4mu thick, comprising a water-soluble polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol containing, if necessary, a water-proofing agent is formed on the upper surface of the heat-sensitive color development layer. |
