NEW MATERIAL:A substituted phenoxypropylamide derivative of formula I and its salt (R is H or methyl; Y is dimethylamino, or 1-pyrrolidinyl; Z is H, or methyl or ethyl which may be substituted with halogen, hydroxyl or amino). EXAMPLE:N-[3-[3-[1-(1-pyrrolidinyl)ethyl]phenoxy]propyl]dichloroacetam ide. USE:A new-type anti-ulcer agent. Effective to suppress the secretion of gastric juice by its excellent histamine H2 receptor antagonistic activity. PROCESS:The compound of formula I is prepared either by the amidation reaction of an amine compound of formula II or its reactive derivative (e.g. isocyanate) with a carboxylic acid of formula III or its reactive derivative (e.g. acid halide), or by the reaction of a phenol derivative of formula IV with a propylamide derivative of formula V. |
