PURPOSE:To prepare a water-in-oil type emulsion having excellent effect to suppress the water dissipation through the ekin and low tackiness, and suitable for the protection and remedy of chapped skin, by adding an alpha-monoglyceryl ether and a specific branched fatty acid cholesteryl ester. CONSTITUTION:A water-in-oil type emulsion containing (A) an alpha-monoglyceryl ether of formulaI(R is 10-24C alkyl or alkenyl), esp. the compound of formulaIwherein R is monomethyl-branched alkyl group of formula II (m is 2-14; n is 3-11; m+n is 9-21) and (B) a branched fatty acid cholesteryl ester of formula III (R' is 11-23C saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having at least one alkyl substituent group between the carboxyl-bonding position and the center of the main chain). The amounts of the compounds of formulaIand of formula II in the emulsion are pref. 0.5-5.0wt% and 2-15wt%, respectively. |
