<p>The stop cock has two chambers, the inlet opening into one and the outlet leading from the other. The two chambers are interconnected for inlet, but separated by a diaphragm with an annular portion. The latter co-operates with a seat for the cock closure. The diaphragm has a transverse passage for interconnecting of the chambers. The passage is controlled by a valve, firmly coupled to an armature of an electromagnet. The valve seals the diaphragm side directed towards the cock outlet for the cock closure. Pref. the valve co-operates with an edge or a lip forming a part of a tubular core (32) of the diaphragm (29) round its passage (87). The valve is carried by a pin or shaft, passing through the core with a clearance. The core may be of flexible material for penetration by the valve of larger outer diameter.</p> |
