Composite building panels are constructed as hollow structures of timber, pretreated to confer fire resistance, filled with expanded polyurethane resin either as a prefabricated panel or by resin injection in situ. Combines fire resistance with good thermal and acoustic insulation properties. Lighter than doors with metal panels or frames, and free from thermally conductive bridges at the frame joints. The edges of the panel are deep enough to form effective seals against smoke or flame penetration past a suitable supporting frame. Opt. the panels incorporate local stiffening battens, also of timber. The outermost components of the panels are connected using stepped lap joints.
|
