<p>The screen-cleaning machine uses ascending rakes (3) to collect detritus from e.g. a screen (2) across a water-intake channel at a hydro-electric plant. The rakes are displaced by motors and deposit detritus overhead (4), following a trajectory in the shape of a geometrical figure and making a linear ascending 'pick up' run over the screen. The rake may be suspended by rods (10) and chains (9) from radius arms to a revolving motorised shaft, or alternatively two diametrically opposed sets of radius arms may each have a rake suspended from their free ends, the shaft being horizontal and parallel to the screen.</p> |
