PURPOSE:To obtain a hydrophilic processing effect having a water-resistant property, by sputter-etching a lens under the conditions that atmospheric pressure and the quantity of discharge processing electric power have been specified. CONSTITUTION:A plastic hard contact lens 5 is brought to high-frequency sputter-etching processing by 0.01-0.5Torr atmospheric pressure, and 5-400 Watt. sec/cm<2> the quantity of discharge processing electric power. For instance, the lens 5 is placed onto an electorde 4, the pressure in a pressure reducing vessel 1 is set to 1X10<-3>Torr by a vacuum pump, and after that, atmospheric gas is led in through a valve 3 and is adjusted so that the pressure becomes 0.1Torr, also a high frequency electric power supply is adjusted so that the discharge electric power becomes 2 Watt/cm<2>, and sputter-etching is performed for scores of seconds. The working discharge electric power is usually 0.1-4 Watt/cm<2> and the discharge processing time is usually 3-300sec. |
